WHY AWARENESS
Paving The Way for Advocacy
Knowing we need to pave the way for affordable housing by generating support among Ulster County residents, last fall, the Ulster County Housing Consortium conducted an online survey to provide a snapshot of housing conditions and better understand where residents stood regarding housing issues.
The survey demonstrated that, while residents recognize that the county has a housing affordability problem, they aren’t sure what to do about it. This presents a great opportunity to educate residents about the critical need for workforce housing and engage them in developing solutions.
The Ulster County Housing Consortium’s Give Housing a Voice public awareness campaign is designed to elevate housing as a critical issue and mobilize support for workforce housing affordability, sufficient housing supply and smart growth, using online, media and direct marketing tools to spread the message.
